All horses are different, i dont know a heck of alot about hooves, but Twiggy has really good feet and adjusts to being barefoot well, Over summer during competitions etc she has shoes for extra traction. Some horses can be tender barefoot, and hobble a bit on stones, but get accustomed to it after a while =] "does it hurt when you fix them on her feet?" If your refering to the nails then no, theres no nerves or anything in the hoof wall, sort of like your finder nails =]
Can you explain more please? Can horses actually run without their shoe? does it hurt without them and does it hurt when you fix them on her feet?
ReplyDeleteThanks
